Wow! Its been some time I last post something here! Haha! Life has been... busy as usual. Life in my NS unit is as enjoyable as ever. And my superior helped me to defer my re-course BMT to a later date, THANKFULLY! Film Unit now is like my 2nd SCC, all the wonderful people inside...

Ok, enough of NS stuff already, haha! I have been in this compeition call Impresario 2009 Original Composition for quite some time already and got all the way to the finals. Thank God for that. And my song "Only Way" is the only English song that went into the Finals! I dunno whether that's a good thing or a bad thing judging to the fact that the music publisher for this competition is a chinese based industry publisher call Touch Music from Music Forest aka. Ocean Butterfly.

I was quite disappointed when Tiffany did not get into the Finals for the Vocal Solo category, cos I wanted to see her in the Finals with me, just like old times... But anyway, I have to thank her for spamming votes for me, LOL! Tiffany has LOTS of email accounts!!!

Anyway, back to the song writing competition topic. Yesterday, me and Tingren have a session with Hong Jun Yang and the head of Touch Music Publishing House to discuss on how to improve the song for the competition. I was like OMG! when I saw him in the room waiting for me. By the way, he look so much shorter than when he's on TV... LOL! and fatter too... I realised he's very used to chinese music arrangement. He even ask whether I can convert my this English song into Chinese version. LOL!

After some time of discusion, we went onto the topic of music recording techniques and the music market industries, and we went on and on and on without watching the time, leaving Tingren lost in space alone, i guess... Haha! It was an enjoyable chat la. Finally there's someone who like to discuss on the same topics that I like and can understand me!

After that, he brought me and Tingren to his office, which is a mini recording studio! And he also gave me his name card. He has moved on to be the creative executive of Touch Music, that's explain why he seldom produce albums recently. And he calls himself Alien Ang. LOL! Anyway, he will be the judge for my competition, so better not make fun of him anymore. =P

I was also told to attend an interview session on the radio on this thursday or friday 7pm on 100.3FM. OMG! I wonder how am I able to speak well in chinese over the radio!!! SO EMBARASSING!!!

Haha! Judging from the title above, you may think that why am I suddenly so devoted? Cos I have been receiving so many blessings lately! So wouldn't it be the right way the give thanks to Him?

To continue my NS journey from my previous post, I've been posted to SAF Film Unit in Safti MI as a Media Techinician, just when I made quite a number of good friends in Transport Hub like Wilson, Ming Yang, Chen Yang and Ji Wei. And Pang was posted back to Keat Hong Camp. Being posted out from the Transport Unit, I was given the Transport Hub Shirt and Cashcard as a token of appreciation. Its like leaving the family of the SAF Transport system company.

My new vocation as a Media Technician is a vocation that not many people in the Army will ever come across. The job scope is unknown to many, same goes to me, but I do know that its gonna be something related to media stuff. Anyway, I've heard its good life to be in there. True enough, that place is a PARADISE! Can be said better than the Music and Drama Company(MDC) which I'm dying to get in. And the best news is, I'M PERMANENTLY THERE!!! Which also means -> NO MORE POSTING ME AROUND!!! until re-course of bmt... And I also secretly heard that my Transport camp superior wrote a letter to send me to the SAF Film Unit. Love him.

On my 1st day there, I was interviewed by the boss, who is a SUPER NICE GUY! He is super friendly and not arrogent. And he don't dress in uniform. Having known my speciality in sound studio recording and music composition, he put me in charge of editing sounds and making music for the videos there. I was like "WOW! Its like I'm working in my future career already". And the Recording Studio there is very high tech. There's also a television, sofa and a keyboard in there to play with when I'm bored. The best thing is you can lock the studio and have ur private times in there and they wouldn't bother you so long as you meet the dateline to submit the given projects. The people working there are also very friendly, so far I never seen any Ah Beng-like characters there. Only Angels flying all over the place. Haha! I love my NS life now, and I hope it will be like this until I ORD.

Recently, I have been very busy thinking of a melody and arrangement for my song for the Impressario Song Writing Competition. I threw away alot of melodies until I finally got a melody that is more catchy and uses weird chords. And I have been thinking of ways to make my song stand out more. So I came out with a conclusion of making an English song having lots of back-up vocalists to spam harmonies to the MAX! Probably will make the song more different from the rest in the competition ba I guess... Anyway, I have done recording the instrumental minus-one and will be recording the vocals in LWS studios next week. Hopefully can submit the demo on time...

1st time in a professional recording studio! So exciting!

The title says it all! Today is my 1st time that someone actually called me to sing he's song to be recorded into a demo! Somemore its from the people in Lee Wei Song Music School! Usually people ask me to help them play keyboard for their song only...

So I went to Lee Wei Song Studios today and sang the song. Its quite an ordinary ballad song though. And they recorded my keyboard and vocals. Oh, the song is a 2 guy duet song, so I sang it with my friend. After the recording, the sound engineer playback the song for us to listen. To my surprise, the quality is VERY GOOD! SO CLEAR AND CRISPY!!! AND IT DON'T REALLI SOUND LIKE MY VOICE! Except that their instrumentals recording abit sucky...

After the recording, the sound engineer said my voice very unique and wanted me to sing his songs too. OMG! Dunno whether is he trying to poh me or not. Sounds too good to be true... But still, I'm very happy! And he also encouraged me to join Lee Wei Song vocal class for learn the actuall vocal skills...

Lots of stuff to write about!

YOYO! Its been some time since I last posted something in this blog. So I have lots of things to write about. Things regarding my NS life back in Jurong Camp, my music performance outside and my relationship with my dear princess suat!

So I shall start with my relationship journey thingy. Many people are surprised that me and xt are together. In fact, we have been hiding our profile for almost one month le! (until the day when xt suddenly decided to let everyone know...) Life with her has been great! During our 1st month, we went to sentosa to celebrate! We went to underwater world, dolphin lagoon, musical fountain (songs of the sea) and the dragon trail. Due to it that its our 1st month, which should be very important, I wanted to make it more special and memorable. So I tried to think of alot of ideas to spice up the event, which in the end I thought of ideas that are very off... So I bought a pair of "cinderella glass slippers" for xt. Yea, I know its unlucky to do that... But I dont believe in such stuff. Maybe xt will, but I will prove that its untrue! Haha! And I plan a game during that day, which turn out to be a failure... Lol! I shall stop writing about this, shy le, more details ask me or xt personnally.

Next is my music journey as a performer. Recently, Yu Chun called me to replace him in his gig which is in 3 hours time cos he was ill. In case you didnt know, Yu Chun is the keyboardist for San Yue in Superband. I thought this is a good chance for me to perform outside in a gig since I never perform in a gig before. So I agree to help him. Then he sent me an email showing 24 songs titles inside, and around half of the songs I didn't hear before. And I dont have the chords for ALL THE 24 SONGS!!! Immediately, I called him regarding this problem and he call me to IMPROMPTU! WAH SO SCARY! By the way, its a wedding gig, EVEN WORSE, SCARY TIMES 2!!! LATER PEOPLE CANCEL MARRIAGE BECAUSE OF ME HOW??? He then sent me chords for the songs and call me figure out a way. I listened to a few of the songs, rush down to the gig and prayed for blessings. Lol! I never feel so unprepared in my performing life before, imagine playing for songs that you have never hear and play before, and you have to play it without having mistakes! When I reached there, Leon from Project Superstar called me to pick me up from the hotel. He say he is one of the duet singers. OMG! SCARY TIMES 3!!! But after some encouragment from my dear dear, I feel so much better.

During the gig, I do not dare to play any fancy stunts on my keyboard, cos I do not know how the songs sound like. I just play according to the chords that have been taken from the net, AND SOME OF THEM ARE WRONG! I told Leon that I never hear those songs before, and it got him pretty scared too! LOL! After halfway through the gig, an er hu player joined in and they wanted me to play with him instrumentals. OMG! SCARY TIMES 4!!! One good thing though, they cut a few of the songs cos I told them I totally have no idea what those songs are and the chords given to me were totally wrong. So I only have to impromptu 16 songs. But its still alot... Ok! In conclusion, overall performance... I did screwed up a bit here and there, but luckily the audience didn't know, cos I managed to quickly cover up. Its only between me and the singers that know the errors. Haha! The best thing is... I earned $320 from this gig. Shiok! And I did not know about this at all until the er hu player told me. It pays off in the end from all that stress! I have been blessed by God!!!

Lastly, its my NS life again! The story continues from the previous post when I was called back to Jurong Camp. When I was there on the 1st day, the superiors there call me to help the video team, which consist of 2 people, to work on the unit's anniversary video. And by doing so, I can stay at home everyday to do the project without the need to go back to camp at all until November 7, which is around 2 months from that day. I was like shocked!!! Wow! ITS LIKE HOLIDAYS!!! So I quickly do my project everytime and go out and play. And all the super high rank people will be watching my video in DXO! Shiok! Can become famous! However, the anniversary finally ended last week and I was told that I should get like a few days of off due to our "hardwork". Unfortunately, my superior can't give me off yet cos my unit is short of manpower currently, so I have to stay and help them for around 2 weeks lor... Sad case... And alot of people there (those who are not officers) are jealous of us having our holidays. So, they tried to give us alot of work when we are in camp. I had a great time working with my video team members, Pang and Ji Wei. Unfortunately, Pang have to leave us for his storeman course, which leaves me and Ji Wei stuck in Jurong camp. And given the information I got from the clerk in my unit, I will be changing to another place in 2 weeks to 2 months time cos I do not belong in Jurong camp. MDC auditions is in the 1st week of December, hope MDC will save me soon. Perhaps this is God's plan? See the connection? -> They may have to kick me away cos I don't belong in Jurong Camp and MDC audition coming soon. For now... I will have to stuck in Jurong Camp for some time, being busy again and assisting the clerk there...

This is getting irritating... I have been called back to Jurong Camp Transport HQ. According to the email they sent to my superior, they need me to do some recording for their anniversary video. Sounds interesting... George will be posting to Sungei Gedong as a clerk and Jia Wei has been posted as a RP. I think he has the best life among all of us lor... Actually to me, I don't mind any vocation, as long as I can stay out. One thing bad about Jurong camp is that all the high rank superior are there, so very hard to slack. Dunno will I enjoy there more than Bukit Panjang camp anot...

As I have promised in my previous post that I will talk about Bukit Panjang camp Transport unit. According to most people, it is a very nice place to be in, cos the job scope down there is very slack. True enough, the disciplinary level down there is very low. What my job includes doing sai kang, doing details in the morning and after that surf internet and play games. Due to the very little job assigned there, most of the time I will have to act busy to avoid being assigned with extra work or scolded, especially by this old uncle call Mr Chew, which is very naggy and everyone hates him. LOL! He's a DXO there.

Over there, the office is very small. The 2 biggest superiors there is my MTO Gavin Soh and MTWO Cher. Gavin is a super nice guy but Cher is a horrible uncle, always like to aim me. Both of them seems equal in power, but by right Gavin should have more power, but he always give in to Cher.

As for the people there, 90% are malays, thus making cliques there for me is kinda difficult. I only been more close to the chinese there and also the one which I'm understudying, Ismail. He's a very nice guy to be with. Very patient with me when I have trouble and when I'm learning. Oh ya, I'm a detail clerk there. I will be in charge of planning a time table for the drivers there using the requests from the 3SIB and 5SIR units there. I will also be in charge of choosing drivers to go for the assisgnments. POwer right? Their lives lies in my hands. LOL!

Everyone there have to stay in camp, including clerks.I don't understand why I have to stay in when my house is at a walkable distance and I'm never late for work. The most frustrating thing is that at 1st MTO allow me to stay out but after that he say stay in. Hai... Cheated my feelings. But I heard that alot of people bend the rules there and illegally stay out, so I decided to do the same. Until last week I kana caught by MTO, but being a nice person, he never punish me or tell anyone. So I stayed in for a few days and I receive news of posting back to Jurong this morning.

Sadly, just when I'm about to get close to the people there, I receive news that I will need to return to Jurong Camp Transport HQ on the very last minute. I met many good friends and learnt many chao geng stuff from them. I even have a nickname there call "Stevo". LOL! And according to the people there, especially Fauzy, they say I'm like the Angel among the Devils. Probably because I'm have been acting to be a good and innocent boy over there. And yes, I acted, and got quite tired of it.

Anyway, Friends like Gerald, Ismail, Kwoh Boon How, Jaryl are people who I really enjoy their company there. Gonna miss them and my "private driving lessons" from Gerald...(I'm not suppose to drive actually...) This posting here and there thing is really playing with my feelings. Whatever it is, I believe its part of God's plan and I believe He will help me to a posting which I will enjoy and in my NS life. Amen!

And so, my journey continues back in Jurong Camp as a... Clerk...???

Dear bloggy, I'm very sad today. Mainly of 2 things.

Firstly, I did not get into MDC. My pes status as pending is not good enough for me to get into MDC yet. I have to get it to pes C as soon as possible. Recently, the Medical Officer in my unit had just sent my medical status onto the medical board as pending C2L2. I just need to wait till its confirm and try for the next MDC audition again. If I fail to downgrade my pes to pes C and get back to pes B, I will keep trying to geng till I get pes C, or else I wont stand a chance to get into MDC. LOL!

Secondly, my BMT friends have just POP (graduated) from BMT and have been posted to different units. Some even got into SISPEC and OCS. My good friend Kai got into a unit which he's hoping not to go. Damn worried for him. Seeing him sad makes me sad too. And Zuo Zhi need to be stuck inside his OCS camp for 3 weeks. All of my BMT friends will be reporting to their new units from today. The sad thing is all of them are seperated into different places and time schedule. We may not even have the chance to meet up anymore. Sob... No more fun times together... I'm gonna miss my buddies...

My 1st step to MDC, The MDC Auditions...

Yo people! Just to update you all, I'm currently working in Bukit Panjang Camp as a Detail Clerk, spending my slacking and boring life there. And I have been sneaking back home every evening after work to practise for my upcoming MDC auditions at that time. Out of the four categories, I signed up for Vocal Ensemble, Musician/ Instrumentalist, and Production Service. The only one I did not signed up for is the Artiste category as it requires you to act, host and dance besides singing, and I can't do it. As for my life in Bukit Panjang Camp, I will talk about it in my next post.

Ok, 2 major events I had for the last week end. SCC camp and MDC audition. I shall start off with the SCC camp. SCC camp was not too bad, but also not too good.

Good pointers are: the bonding of the freshies are there, schedule is clear cut and systematic, the lecture by acid lao shi is really a very good highlight for the camp, the food production from the bbq is faster as compared to previous camps, and alot of people initiated to help out during the camp.

Bad pointers are: too little members went for the camp so the atmosphere not as high, technical side still can be improved, the kbox session like abit failure and overused (hee... no offense, sorry), night walk location like not eerie enough leh...

And I was very impressed by Gary's effort to make the camp a good one even though he's sick. Carry out a camp is already very tiring, whats even worse is that he was sick and he still carry on. Hero la. But of cos chien wen did a good job in assisting him also la, haha!

For me, my experience in this camp is great! Get to know quite a number of chio boos, heheheh. But not as fun as last camp, cos not many of my year that bunch of friends come back for this camp...

K, for the MDC audition, which falls on the morning of the MP and camp day, is already a let down. I have to rush to the clubhouse super early in the morning to practise my keyboard and warm up my vocals and then rush to Nee Soon camp where they held the audition. And I met a lot of friends and celebrities there. I met Kah Leong, Timothy, Renfred, Hanyang, an old friend of mine and some SCC people there.

1stly, I went for the instruments audition. The Godly Drummer Andrew from SCC Audio Insanity was one of the judge there and he regconise me! It was my turn and I brought in my mp5 with my backing music track inside and my keyboard. When I'm inside the room, Andrew allowed me to set up my own keyboard and my mp5 into the speakers, but got this uncle judge refused to allow me. I told him I had prepare my piano pieces and it requires my backing track to be played together when I'm playing my piano or else the music I prepared will make no sense. He insisted in not allowing me to carry out what I had planned. Fine then, I got no mood in presenting my piano pieces anymore and anyhow press those key on the keyboard. After all that effort I had done in recording my backing track, it had come to waste. What an asshole. And for sight reading, HE WANTS ME TO PLAY IT IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT READING IT 1ST! Please la! In every piano examination, the students are ALWAYS given at least 5 mins to read 1st before playing. That uncle is so unprofessional. As a result, I flunk the audition. Nvm, still got vocal audition next.

As for the vocal audition, people who went into the audition said that it was quite tough when the judge is playing some random notes on the piano and you have to sing according to it. And they need a bass singer... Ooooo... I was quite nervous and scared at that time, cos I cant afford to fail as I had flunk in my keyboard audition. So I went in and did my best. However, it was not as tough as I expected. I'm able to sing out those random notes the judge played on the piano and I'm quite satisfied with myself. Nothing much to complain. And so I moved on to the interview for production service.

There, the interviewer asked me some of my experiences on producing shows and I vomit out all the experiences I had during my course in Film, Sound and Video. I think she was quite satisfied with me also as I mentioned I was involved in the NP Idol production and SCC concerts production.. And so, I have nothing much to complain. But my worry is that what if i'm selected for both vocal and production service? According to MDC, they will post me to the one which lacks of people. Shit! I wanna go into vocal ensemble more! But nvm, whether I get in or not, its God's plan and I believe he will do what's best for me. K, got to sleep, cya!

Driver or Clerk? Posted out again? This is so unpredictable...

And so my NS journey continues in Transport Hub West in Jurong camp. On the very 1st day there, 2 other OOT recuits join, George and Jia Wei. Immediately after that, we each had a short interview and all of us got the status of Driver Dropouts or T-list after telling them our medical conditions. And we may be posted to be clerks instead. George had an allergy to sunlight and Jia Wei got a lump on his back.

Everyone there are very nice and we are given so SOOOOOO MUCH more freedom than in BMT. But there are still rule of course. And also slackier... Our daily activities there are to eat our lunch and dinner. Other than that, we do NOTHING for the WHOLE DAY. So some of us sleep, and some of us listen to mp3. For me, I bought an mp5 and brought it along. I can't bring in PSP though due to the strict rules from the guard house, so I didn't buy it in the end. And ya, being in this HQ hub, there's a lot of things that I can't bring in, as long if the device has a memory slot even if u didn't bring the memory card, its still NOT ALLOWED!

Everyday we get to go home at 5.30pm and report back in the morning at 7.30am. And we are also told that after another interview yesterday, we will most likely be unable to go home every evening anymore. Everyone have to stay in, including clerks. The senior that is in cherge of us happen to be able to go home everyday after work. And we were told that he declared as gay.

For me, I'm very VERY desperately to stay out as I don't wanna be trap in camp and was hoping to attend SCC every wednesday. And their nights out are tuesday and thursday, NO WEDNESDAY! So I kept praying to Jesus for them to allow me to stay out. Haha!

And yes! MY PRAYERS ARE ANSWERED! Today I was posted out to Bukit Panjang camp to do clerk stuff and because that I'm living in Bukit Panjang also, my superior allow me to stay out. This also means I can go for SCC every wednesday! WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO! And I also heard Bukit Panjang camp is a slack camp and most likely they allow people to bring in PSP! SHIOK!

Unfortunately, they say its onli temporary, but I doubt so. Lol! And George who is staying in Bukit Panjang also, got posted to PLC, which is furthur and sticter I heard... And Jia Wei staying back in Jurong camp to help my senior. So, I have to leave my friends again. NS is a place that you will leave alot of good friends behind. I hate it.

I'm BACK! To Singapore! No more BMT! for now...

Wow, never have I expected that I would finish BMT that fast. Well, I wouldn't say that I finished BMT as I got OOT halfway through. Anyway, its a looooooong story. And I'm gonna write it down here as I have not been blogging since the day I enlisted. Reason being that I was told that people in BMT are not suppose to write anything about their BMT life and activities. Now that I'm out of that place, I DON'T GIVE A DAMN! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! And so, my story in Tekong begins...

On the day of enlistment, me and Johnny was taken to the inner part of Tekong, which they call it, Rocky Hill. My company was Quebec and Johnny was in Zulu. Our blocks are just next to each other, and so, we get to see each other botak everytime. After that, I'm was brought to my bunk, platoon 3, section 2.

On that very 1st day of NS, I find it EXTREMELY hard to adapt. Everything that me and my platoon mates have to do must be fast and tidy. I hated the feeling that I'm forced to do so. I felt like a prisoner. Oh, and I'm very anxious to know who will be my assigned buddy and this very tall guy call Wee Seng in my bunk caught my attention as his bed number was assigned to be next to mine. Just as I was hoping that there will be no Ah Bengs here, I saw these 2 guys, Edmund and Jay in my bunk. One with some tatoos on his back and having fierce looking eyes like some sort of gang leader, and the other one with a mischevious face, dark eye bags and a hair as long as my maid's hair, like some kind of ah beng in the next generation.

Soon, I was assigned a buddy, Joei. He seems to be a very shy guy to me. But thats good! Cos I'm a shy person myself! Hmmm... Nothing much to chat about on our 1st day after introducing ourselves. But I'm soooooooo glad to have such a nice person like Joei to be my buddy, at least its not the 2 ah bengs. With the uncle hairstyle and the thick spects that Wee Seng wore, looks like a blur cock to me. I'm a blur cock myself, so I was hoping not to be buddy with him. Haha! Oh! And there's this mysterious bunk mate call Chee Tung, who didnt not stay in for a few days due to illness, confirm is a chao geng-er one. Lol!

The next person who caught my attention in my bunk is this guy call Kai Hock (cos of his BIG eyes). The 1st thing that we talk to each other was about the exchanging of our clothes sizes and we happen to want the same size of clothing that was out of stock in the store house. Soon, perhaps due to the same problems we faced, we started talking alot to each other and I find it very easy to click with him. Best part is, he's quite smart and fast in both his thinking and his actions and so it will be a good investment to make friends with him (wahahaha, can make use!). K, thats not true, I'm not so evil. I'm a innocent person, and I'll forever be. LOL! Oh! The onli time he lose to me is when bathing. He takes alot of time to scrub himself clean. Haha! But I enjoyed his company alot. We always run together, rush to the toilet together to bathe, waited for each other and chop seats to eat together, eat our snacks and sweets together in our bunk etc... And yes, of cos people will start thinking that we are gays, but I don't give a damn. I'm still straight ok, I still like that gal in SCC.

After that, I get to know this guy call Andrew in my bunk. The way he look, the way he talk and the way he behave seems soooooooooo familiar to me, like I know him somewhere in my life before. Perhaps we are destined to meet each other in NS. Haha! And he kept provided different kinds of food for the bunk, thus making him the "Food IC".

When Chee Tung finally returns from his MC, thats when I form the 3 clowns in my bunk, Meng Geng, Wee Liang and Chee Tung. One look like a Ah Meng, one look like Mian Bao Chao Ren and one look like Master Q (lao fu zi). And I like to find things to talk to Chee Tung cos I find his accent very cute. But Wee Liang's cuteness won everyone's heart whenever he look up to anyone with his innocent eyes and speak. And that Meng Geng aka Ah Meng cannot leave his bunk mates in peace by doing all those weird and hornny stuff. Though his actions are disturbing, but its always funny and entertaining. Master of the Jokers. And this guy call Sharul, which is Kai's buddy, is also a joker. But he got the status OOT and left us a few weeks later. Never have much quality time with him. And so Kai joined my buddy gang.

After some time, the bond in my bunk got stronger. The 2 bengs in my bunk aren't that beng after all. They are actually very nice people, and also very hornny people... About that blur cock Wee Seng I once thought of, he's actually the total opposite of it. He was fast in his thinking, fast in his actions, fast in leading our section, anything good, You name it, he can do it well. A natural leader. But not fair, cos he was from NCC, thats why he knows everything so well. In my opinion, he is the best leader in the platoon, better than lai ping I feel, but he wasn't given much time to show it though... Nvm, there is always another chance to show it next time. And this guy call Joshua, I never been talking to him much until I brought my guitar into camp and realised he loved music and singing like me. And so we always sing in the toilet ever since, until one night he got scolded by a sergeant!!! Haha! For me, my bunk mates call me "Feather". Cos I'm light. Lame right? Lol! Kai even go to the extend and call me a Peacock, Squirel, and then now Hamster!!!

As for my platoon commanders, most of them are very nice people, except for 2 ridiculous ones... Sergeant Malcom, the angel in the whole company, happened to be in charge of my section. THANK GOD! HALLELUYAH! PRAISE THE LORD! Sergeant Ming Hui also not bad, very caring person, very quiet person too. Platoon commander Koh is also a very caring person, but he demands alot from our physical level. Like Meng Geng always say "He thought he's training an army of guards". And... OMG! It left with platoon sergeant Alex and sergeant Zul! They are a bunch of bastards and I don't want to talk about them!

Ok, thats the introduction. YES! INTRODUCTION ONLY!!! I told you it will be a long story already.

I'm a person who desperately hope to get out of bmt life and the army by signing up for police, navy, air force and even military police(though it still belongs to the army). During my bmt training, I had passed 2 interviews from the police and waiting for the final interview. Things are going just fine, especially with Kai around, when suddenly the pain on my back get worse from all those route march. After the 6km route march, I was told to take a X-ray and the report said that I have this problem call the Disc Degenerative Disease on my lumber spine. On that very same day, Joshua got his OOT status due to his arm injury. OOT stands for Out Of Training. For those who think they do not deserve it will see it as Officer On Training, like me. LOL! A few days later, I got that status as well. Sad thing is I can't train with my good friends anymore. Good thing is that I can have the freedom I want, but I'm still not as happy that I thought I would be.

From that day on its doing nothing and cleaning up the place everyday like a servent and at the same time waiting for our posting back to Singapore. It was then I got closer to Joshua and Benny (someone in other bunk beside mine). And I always tend to get close to my platoon whenever I can, be it continue sleeping in the same bunk as them, going to out field with them, staying there until the night etc. to also keep Kai company whenever I can as he did not look as happy like how he used to be during those times. By the way, Johnny got posted out to be a Armour Storeman a few days later. Wahahahahahah! He damn suay.

On the bright side, being a OOT made me get to know a few more good friends like Selwyn, Eleuther, Kazuya, VINOD, Yew Hock and KY. And I forgot to mention this guy call Zuo Zhi aka ZZ. That's another guy which I find it very easy to click with other than Kai. Even Kai can click well with him. It all started when I told him that I had a friend call ZZ also and we started talking cock ever since. My 1st impression of him is that he is a fierce person, but the moment when he talked, that impression went off. I dunno its from his tone or what, but something just tell me that he is someone that I can meddle with. LOL! After that, we started going out as a threesome to Kbox.

Anyway, there comes a day that I will be posted out too like Sharul. A few days ago, I was stayng at home cos I had a 3 days MC. It was only yesterday that I recieved my posting together with Joshua and Benny and I have to rush down to Tekong to collect my stuff immediately. Joshua got a job as a driver, same as me but different place, wherelse Benny got a job as a storeman but same place as mine. Funny... I rushed back to my bunk to pack my stuff hoping to see my bunk mates there, but unfortunately, they were gone for SOC (Standard Obstacle Course). But thanks to Joshua, he dragged the time for me to report to the rover due to his medical report stuff. Then, my platoon mates return just in time when I was about to leave. And yes, its a very sad atmosphere for me, especially when I saw Kai wanna break down liao. Haha! And ZZ was nowhere to be seen in that little time that I have left. But I still got to meet up with them before leaving. So, not that suay. And also sergeant Ming Hui bid farewell to me in only his undies. I still remember how he used his soap or whatever stuff to cover the bulge. LOL!

Well, a story always ends with a conclusion right? Sooooooo, in conlusion, BMT is not a bad place to be in afterall. Without BMT, I wouldn't have met so many people, especially the 2 good friends of mine Kai and ZZ. Good story eh? Maybe I can film this down as a movie.

Message to Kai: I only break down when I reached home alone in my room. Haha! Cos I've been thinking through, ever since I got the status as an OOT, I had been feeling very VERY guilty. I still remember those days when you keep saving my ass from punishments until the day when I asked you whether will it be very troublesome for you to keep helping a blur and slow cock like me while handling your own problems as well. And you said its ok, you just need my company. But in the end I failed to tahan and got an OOT status, so ya, I also dunno how to answer to you after that and the only thing I can do is to sneak back to our bunk whenever I can. And the worse thing is I can't go through those tough times in BMT with you anymore, you know its like after you helped me so much and I just pang seh you suddenly. LOL! And I can't stop worrying whether you got other people to click with anot after I leave. Anyway, ever wonder why I only tell you all these stuff now? Cos I don't dare to say it to you. Omg! Its so ruo ma la! So I tell you through my blog instead. And I don't have to worry about others looking at this in my blog, cos they are all from my CCA and they dunno what I'm talking about. Besides they would have probably gave up reading halfway through this entry. Wahahahhahahahaha! Omg, I've written 2267 words already, time to sleep.

And so, today will be my 1st day in Jurong Camp as a Driver Trainee. A whole new story awaits...

Yo! Today is the day I'm gonna be a MAN! Like they always say, NS is a place for transforming boys into men. Oh God, that's the most disgusting line I ever came across. I'll be away for 2 weeks, returning to Singapore after that with a brand new image. I will be like Johnny by then, always wearing a cap. The only good news I got from this enlistment is I'll be seeing Johnny, Jin Cheng and Edmund in Tekong. The rest are just bad stuff. The worse one is I will be trap in camp every week for 2 long years, which every guy have to go through. I can only hope for the Police Force to come and save me soon as I have already submitted my application form to them.

Alright, I have pretty much finished packing up my room and my bag for my camp. Missing my family is not my main concern now as I'll be seeing them in 2 weeks time. But, I'll miss my room now in Choa Chu Kang. When I return to Singapore after the 2 weeks, I'll be heading to my new house already. Another thing is my gerbils, damn worried for them. Dunno whether my maid and parents can take good care of them anot.

Time flies when I'm having an enjoyable time in SCC. I used to always think that NS is still so far away last time, but now its a different story. I used to hate my academic life in schools studying my brain cells away, but now I learnt to appreciate those times. At least I get to come home everyday to see my family and friends after school and get to enjoy my mum's or my maid's cooking, unlike NS, where they force you to stuck in their prison and onli letting you see your family during weekends. I wonder how am I gonna adapt myself in camp for the whole 2 years without seeing much of my home. It's hard, but I have to try. Hahah! No choice.

Hmmm... I have been thinking about this for some time. A few days ago, the police sent me a letter asking me to sign on. Thinking about serving them for 5 years immediately turns me off. But... After pondering it for some time. It got me interested.

Though I have to serve for 5 years instead of 2 years in army, but the lifestyle in the police force is much more freeeeeeeeeeeee!!! LOL! I can go home everyday, slack schedule, got day shift and night shift, 14 days off in each month, great pay (around 3 times the normal army pay!), allow me to study music and work in the police at the same time, can go SCC, have a K9-unit that I can 'play' with those dogs, their training and working base is sooooo near my house and Ngee Ann Poly, different roles to do everytime so it won't be as boring as army, AND THE UNIFORM IS NICER THAN ARMY! Will make me even more shuai. LOL!

Ok, the cons is the 5 years of contract bond obviously, this means I can't work in the music or media industry until I'm around 25 or 26 years old!!! I can study while working in the police, but when the night shift clashes with my night class, I will need to use my leave, which I must not touch it to accumulate them for my America trip! And ya, I'm stuck in the dilemma of going in Army or Police...

Anyway, I went to watch the superband live performances just now in IMM. I can say, alot of the bands there are not as professional as compared to superband season 1. The only professional band is Ink, Dream Factory and the best one is San Yue. Omg! San Yue band is GODLIKE!!! When they perform, its like watching some superstar concert. ALL THE INSTRUMENTALISTS AND VOCALIST are Godlike. GODLIKE!!! And yes, that is the band which Mark Yu Chun is in. Simply speechless when he play the keyboard. They can tackle ANY GENRES well. Amazing. Sadly, I doubt they are gonna win the competition though. They look TOO powerful already and audience will tend to vote for bands which they can see progession from low standard and most importantly, must be cute which they are not. LOL!

Oh! Recently, I'm playing Maple Story again! Haha! But ITS A PRIVATE SERVER!!! 80 TIMES THE EXP! 8 TIMES DROP RATE! AND 80 TIMES THE MESOS EARN! But very laggy... but still playable. Doesn't lvl too fast, not as slow as the horrible original Maple also, just nice for me. AND IT FEELS GREAT!!! K, gtg play maple! Cya! 26 days left till NS days. I was worrying about adapting to NS life, but now, it seems that there is much more things to worry about.

1stly, the NTU song writing competition dateline is on the 30 of May and I have not complete the melody yet, not to mention about arrangement and recording a demo for it, I don't have the time. I've been busy practising and training my keyboard for the MDC audition, packing up my room, preparing materials for NS, going gym with Johnny, and going for dental checkups as there are holes in my teeth. Next, I have to worry about the upcoming MP where I have 4 songs to master it well, and the worse thing is 2 of the songs lyrics have not been done.

3rd, I have to worry about my new house. My family is gonna move to a new house when I will be spending my 1st 2 weeks of BMT in NS. And I do not like the idea of my parents moving my items and furniture for me to my new room cos they will just dump away any of my stuff which they find it unpleasant to see. This is so ridiculous and rude lor. I wonder whether will they dump away my gerbils also as they hate my gerbils for stinking up my room. And yes, its MY room, why must they bother?

4th! My maid is going home during my NS! WHO GONNA LOOK AFTER MY POOR GERBILS!!!??? Definately not my parents! They HATE them... Definately not my little brother! He can put his dwaft hamsters in a pail filled with water to swim and said that he's bathing them. And the hamsters do not look like they are swimming to me. But I can't bare to part with my gerbils to give them to someone else to take care... HOW...

5th, I had another friend going back to to her country and never to return again. SO SAD!!! What's even more sad is I can't send her off or even spend more time with her BECOS OF THE FUCKING NS!!!

6th, I wanted to go Ai Qing Hai audition with Zi Qin, Chien Wen and Gary one lor, but, it seems impossible now as their audition date falls on June, which is my 1st 2 weeks of BMT. SIAN!!! SO MANY THINGS HAPPENING ON JUNE!!!

I don't have to worry about all these if there's no NS. NS SUX!!! WHAT A WASTE OF PRECIOUS TIME!!! TO SERVE FOR THIS SMALL BORING COUNTRY WHICH I DESPISE! LOL! SINGAPORE SUX!!! WHY WASN'T I AN AMERICAN!!!???

Arrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Why I'm so itchy backside!!! I was thinking to adapt to the life when I have no hair and so I went to the barber to cut short short. And yes, the barber did cut super short for me and I feel disgusted when I look into the mirror. Omg, I'm not gonna go out till the next SCC session. Even with cap, I still look disgusting.

Anyway, NS is drawing near and I knew that the only way that I can attend SCC every wed is to get into the MDC unit through audition as that unit only requires me to work from 8am to 5pm every weekday. Yea, I know that thats not the only unit that works from 8am to 5pm every weekday, but its the only unit which I can choose as I'm not allow to choose among the other units. Besides, its the place of my interest and I can improve myself and learn more skills from people there. Its like a whole new music training ground for me, and I'm getting paid to learn from them. Its so cool.

However, the downside is that its a competitive place, everyone wants to go there. And getting a PES B status for me will mean even more impossible for me to get in. They only allow people of PES C and below to go in, unless the person from PES B is super good. Though chances are slim, but there's still a chance. So for the sake of getting in, I'm gonna stay home and train on my keyboard everyday, till I get into NS.

Ok, due to my research, I realised that they are more inclined to rock and jazz. And I found out that blues is needed in rock&roll and jazz when comes to keyboard solo-ing. So I've been training on solo-ing the keyboard for genres like jazz, funk and currently the blues from keyboard lessons in youtube, hopefully to compose a keyboard instrumental piece in time for the audition during or before my BMT.

Ok, judging from this post title, its gonna be an emo post. Hai... all because of the bloody NS enlistment on 13th June. So many important things I got to do on the month of June and I'm enlisting on that month.

1stly, I've got a band competition with Benedict on the month of May and it may last till the month of June. And I had to win something from it to get a good portfolio for my admission to NS MDC (Music & Drama)

2ndly, I've got a song writing competition with Wendy on the month of May. Same thing, it may last till the month of June. And its for the portfolio sake also.

3rdly, the one which I'm most excited one. I've been looking forward to join this song writing competition from NTU. Unfortunately, it starts on the month of June. Siannnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!

4th, I gotta pack my room stuff and shift into my new house, which is on the month of June also. WTF.

5th, I have so many songs under my hands to complete. Make a melody for Shinru lyrics (which is finishing), make a melody for HuiHui lyrics, make a melody for Gary's gay song which I owe him for a very long time liao, do arrangement for the "Ji Bu" song, do arrangement for a song which I gave to cheryl, do arrangement for one of my song, do a melody and arrangement for the NTU song writing competition, do arrangement for a song which I gave it to Jiayi, do a melody for Wendy lyrics, and do a melody and lyrics for my 2nd song. All to be completed by the 2 remaining Monthly Performances I have left. Omg! So many stuff to do! Nvm, I shall make a to do list to make things more organised.

Oh ya, reason why I wanted to get into MDC in NS so much is because it can give me the time to attend SCC activities every Wednesday. I wonder how life is gonna be wihtout SCC after spending around 5 years in it. Ya, I know its time for me to leave, but I'm just not used to it, or shall I say, I can't bear to. The main reason why I'm so sad about NS is because I will be restricted to attend any SCC activities. Not really because of NS life. I will miss all my friends. I will miss the clubhouse. I will miss... OMG!!! MY GERBILS!!! WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF THEM!!! And ya, I will miss my hair. Maybe I should stop going to SCC anymore to adapt to the change, but thinking of so many songs yet to settle and my keyboard lessons, I can't bare to do it.

And I realised that nowadays whenever I get "suan" in SCC, I will get paranoid that people are waiting for me to leave SCC, maybe because that people are irritated by me keep getting the top few positions for every MP., though I know its not true. WAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! And now whenever any of my song have to be perform, I cannot be involved in it anymore. Yup, that should be the way, I understand, don't worry about it, I'm not blaming anyone here. I just wanna note it down here that the feeling of it sux and it tend to remind me that my time in SCC is almost up, which is so true...

But there's good news though. I will be enlisting on the same day as Johnny, but different time slot. So we are gonna be in different company, but near to each other. Johnny says that he will not come back to SCC until his hair had grown. Pity right? I'm sure you all wanted to see him botak also. Don't worry, he will be just next to my company. You can get the photos of him botak from me whenever I book out. Haha! Alright, gtg sleep! HEALTHY LIFESTYLE! though its a bit late now...

After chionging my cabal for a period of time and buy cash items for my gaming pleasure. I took while to ponder. "Why am I wasting so much of my time on the game?" Yes, its fun! But maybe I shouldn't chiong too much. I should have take more time watch MTV in youtube to analyse more songs.

And so, I found a song in youtube that caught my attention. Its call "Feeling Good" by Michael Bublé, a song which was composed many years ago. Omg, this guy voice is so smooth and amazing. He seldom sing high notes in his song (except for feeling good) and his vocal texture is amazing! I feeeeeel so good when hearing this song. And the arrangement is remarkable. Something that is RARELY HEARD from the chinese industry. Here's the video (you may not like it if you keep listening to songs in the chinese industry):

In conclusion, learn to listen more songs from the other industries. My recommandation would be the English Industry and the Japanese Industry. Most of their songs have good musical standards. Listen to those non-commercial songs also, they are nice too when you get used to it.

Time for some serious thinking...

K, this may be the longest post ever written in my blog. Let me begin by the experience I had when I attended the SPOP finals in the Singapore Indoor Stadium with my friends last week. I tell you, the sound system there is MARVELOUS!!! Any average singers sing on the mic will sound heavenly there. LOL! Serious! The lightings and stage are as great too. Oh! And the instrumentalists there, POWER!!!

After sometime of listening the composed songs there, things start to get a little boring, which can be considered very boring to some people there. The disppointing thing is that people who attended the concert went specially to support their idols, not for the Singapore Music. And its very rude for them to leave the place immediately after their idols had performed. The place was filled with people leaving after each particular performances end, so distracting and such a disgrace to Singapore when the foreign performers saw it there. The worse thing is even my SONG COMPOSING CLUB friends started complaining of feeling hungry and bored. Complaining for a moment is understandable, but complaining endlessly till the performance end is irrrrrrrritating. Please, I was already hungry before attending the concert. Imagine if the same thing happens for SCC concert.

And finally they wanted to leave. I was quite upset and disappointed during that time, but I know its wrong to make them stay and continue watching when they don't feel like it. So I just kept very quiet and leave together until the point when I saw Ivy hesitating to leave the place also. Finally someone who appreciates music! And so me and Ivy suggested for them to leave 1st while we continue watching. But they insisted to stay, so nvm, up to them. And btw, I'm not pissed during that time, I'm just disappointed. Haha!

Enough about that. Few weeks ago, I had an urge to learn a new instrument. Something that is not a common instrument in a band. Firstly, I tried violin last year, but its abit hard to play and I'm stuck at the basics. Wasted my money buying it. Next, I thought of learning the saxophone. However, saxophones are extremely expensive instruments which I can't afford to buy. What happens if I can't learn it well. LOL! Finally, after analysing the different instruments on the web, I came across the instruments harmonica and ocarina. Ocarina sounded quite disturbing to me, and so I chose the harmonica since its a cheap and easy instrument. I bought it the next day and begin practising till now. (I'm sure I did mention this in my previous post and so I will not go into details of the difficulties I faced while playing it) Oh! And I was very inspired when I watch this clip:

Yesterday, me and Winston was having a conversation about our dreams. What we wanna be in future and how to accomplish it. It was then when I suddenly came to think that I did not have a specific aim to go for. I did mentioned under "My Ambition" on the left hand side of this blog, but thats not specific enough for me to aim for. Winston had already strategised his way towards his aim and I'm still stuck without a proper aim.

(Warning! For the following messages are not mainly for reading purpose actually, its more for me to keep it in my blog like a diary. If you wanna read, you're welcome to do so, cos it only talk about me, me and ME! LOL!)

And so I went home to think about it. I always wanted to perform in big stages. I'm addicted to performing, composing and arranging songs. However, I do not like the feeling of performing alone on stage. I tried it before and I feel very uncomfortable to have all the focus on me alone on stage. Afterall, I'm a very shy person. LOL!!! I want to form a band, performing and touring around places like Wu Yue Tian. I want to be a keyboardist cum harmonizer. I totally doubt the idea of me being a main vocalist as I HATE memorising the lyrics and my high notes.

For me, I don't believe that professional instrumental skills are the key factor for a good performace. I strongly believe in being outstanding and able to work well together. With those factors, being able to perform it simple and stable is good enough for a band in my opinion. Think about it, how much can the average audience appreciate when you are showing off your high level skills. You can just simply make your guitar or keyboard volume louder during the interlude and move with the music and people will think that you are a PRO! Haha! And I also believe that good harmonizing and vocals is a must to make a good performance.

Anyway, this dream of mine starts to fade away when I'm having so much difficulty finding the right people to form the band with. Another thing is that it seems that the only way to achieve it in Singapore is by joining Superband, but I will not join it unless I get the right people to work with. Knowing that I may faced the danger of failing, I actually have to plan a backup plan. My course diploma isn't going to help me with it with such a low GPA to get to work in media related companies like Mediacorp, unless I used an alternative way...
Having much thoughts, being a music producer like Timberland may be what I will be interested in having as a backup. That is why I tried so hard to compose different genres. I can't just survive on mainstream songs to achieve that. Hard to achieve, but not as hard as the earlier aim which I mentioned just now. For those who do not know who he is, he is a music producer who made songs for various artists in America, mainly for Hip Hop, R&B, Dance and Electro songs and sometimes featuring in MTVs. Yes! Its time to get healthy!!! Recently I went for checkup and found out that my body is very heaty. There's alot of toxic in my body and my body absoption of food is very poor. This is due to all my late night sleeps, eating at McDonalds, lack of vegetables and fruits intake, and eating too many biscuits and cookies. It all makes sense why I can't get fat as I have been doing all these since I start my poly life. So I decided to stop those stuff. Just as I'm able to sleep early at night, Dixon and Gary intro me a game called Cabal Online. The graphics is so mesmerising that I can't take my eyes off my computer screen very night. So, resulting in late night sleep again... Hai... And I gotta work for more money to buy suppliments to regain my health fast so I can gain weight asap. Shiok!!!

Anyway, I bought a harmonica a few days ago and decided to try learning it. To my surprise, it is very easy to learn and I can play it without trouble according to the key of the music which my harmonica is build in. The difficult thing comes when you have to blow and suck, and maybe lick to produce different notes. Its easy to produce chords, but it very hard to produce single clean notes as the holes on the harmonica is designed very closely to each other. Sad...

Oh... And the superband application dateline is drawing nearer, and I still can't find a singer. Double sadness...

SCC gala dinner is a BLAST!!! Although its not as emotional as last year's, not to mention the poor technical side. But its still as great!!! Got to see so many people that gone through extreme makeover just to attend the dinner. So cool, all so shuai and pretty, made me feel so under dressed. Luckily got johnny and fun wearing T-shirts there. LOL!

Yup, and I'm so happy with the results and feedback I got when presenting my "movie". For those who wants the CD, you can come and get the CD from me. But of course, there's a down side of my life which I'm currently experiencing now. It seems that its getting more impossible for me to join superband now that one of my dreamed band member decided not to join... How am I gonna find a vocalist who can sing and charm xiao mei mei for the replacement? How am I gonna find someone who can work well with me. Sob sob... =(

Now the thing is I may need to go to the extent to find a stranger to join, but that defeats the point. Sian... howhowhow... I'm stuck...

Busy week at home and full of thoughts...

It has been a busy week for me, as usual, but this time I'm staying at home for the week. I had been busy editing the SCC "Movie" video in my com and it takes up alot of my time and hard drive space. Probably around 22.5 GB... The video is so large that I had to back up all my files in my com to DVD-R and CD-R to make space for my hard drive to import those videos. And I can say its the lamest video I had ever made. LOL!

Meanwhile, another thought that keeps bothering me is whether to take part in Superband or not. By the way, the alumni who I mentioned in my previous post are Ken for guitar(President of SCC 2006, Jocelyn's bf), Sultan for bass, Andrew for drums and Tiffany for vocals. For those who dunno who they are, they are the former band members of Hor Wei Jian's band few years ago. Recently, Tiffany had rejected their invitation as her Taiwan trip clashes with the Superband audition date. As for me, I rejected their invitation as I feel more comfortable in joining another band of mine which consists of, Johnny for vocals, Timothy for violin and guitar and Tze Chow for drums and guitar. I will be responsible for keyboard and harmony though. We will be focusing songs which is not as heavy as the normal band, something like shi liu shi ji de qing jian, and something that suits Johnny's voice.

Sounds exciting! BUT!!! Me and Johnny is still wondering whether it is the right time to join this kind of competition or not. Johnny has also been thinking whether he should give up his Taiwan trip to make it for the audition. Besides that, me, johnny and timothy should be receiving the NS enlistment letter anytime. Good thing is that Ken says that we can defer, ONLY IF we are the top 18 or so on. Another thing is that according to some friends, we are not really up to standard yet. But in my opinion, why bother about standards when we have our X-factor Johnny Tan Chia Soon to charm all the xiao mei mei and gays. LOL! Joking Joking... But then, we dont have anymore time to waste, it may be too late for us to think about this kind of competition after we complete NS. And also I hope that this competition can give me the experience for higher chances in entering the Music and Drama department in NS, although I've got a PES B. However, the danger of joining this kind of competition is that, once you are out of the game, you'll be comdemned FOR LIFE!!! LOL! Not so kua zhang la, but you know what I mean right? So ya, I seriously dunno wad to do...

Oh, recently, one of my friends said that the MTV which I'm inside has been screened in SCV channel 55. OMG!!! That's so embarassing! The worse thing is that I have not seen my performance in the MTV yet!!! Scary...

Next, I'll be having this vocal competition audition (Stardust) this saturday. Its not really a priority in my mind now though. My friend joined the competition, so I just tag along. K, gtg back to edit the video. Cya!

Yo! Its so exciting to finish up this major video project to showcase. I hope this video will be a good memento for those graduating members like me (hopefully) when they are no longer in SCC of all the laughter, joy and randomness abnormal friend. Recently I have been very busy with shooting, exporting and editing the video, so thats why I did not play much in Angels Online and Ranarok Online, and even update my blog.

Another thing is I've just received a call from an SCC alumni to join superband. I was kind of surprise as that alumni never called me in the phone before and we have never get to work together before also. So ya, he asked me for the role of a keyboardist and maybe a vocalist and I agreed. Maybe I'll just focus on keyboard ba, my vocal's not that stable yet, especially in Chinese. So now they are missing of a singer who need to be presentable and skillful. Cannot find those random people who can sing well but do not have the X-factor. However, all of these are not confirm yet. But if it happens, it will be great. Alright, gtg!

Just finished my “final exam” today… Thought that I don’t have to bother about exams anymore, but I screwed up again. 1 week of studying had gone to waste. Studied until wanna vomit blood liao, in the end I can’t answer 85% of the questions in the paper. I can’t remember any shit I’ve studied. And the paper worth 40% of my whole module. How am I gonna pass the module when I already failed the other 30% of the module… This means I failed 70% of the module in total and I have only 30% left of chance to pass it. Am I cursed or what? Do I really have to stay in this shity course for 5 years? I don’t wanna stay for another semester… again… not anymore… or maybe dismissal… I had enough of wasting my time in my course. I want to graduate, but its so hard to graduate. How… I’m scared…

Finally! My last exam paper of my course, or maybe of my life, is TOMORROW!!! And I don't have the studying mood. The topic is all about the history of cinemas. Not just that, its the history of ALL the Asian countries cinema. How boring is that? Disgusting module, disgusting topic, and disgusting people that became famous in the film industry that make me have to study about them.

Arkward New Year...

Yea! It’s finally Chinese new year and I’m gonna be rich again! However, I felt so arkward in front of all my relatives, perhaps I did not get in touch with them for such a long time. Or maybe it’s because of my extremely bad haircut which made me looked like an uncle. I have no more fringe and my sides are almost bald. LOL! Shouldn’t have trust the hairstylist in the 1st place. And it’s so boring attending all the ‘bai nian’ thingy. I had to bring my laptop around during ‘bai nian’ to occupy myself.

It’s gonna be a busy week ahead for me. My final exam in poly falls on next Tuesday and I hadn’t been doing my revision yet due to all the ‘bai nians”. And I got to compose 3 to 4 instrumental songs for another Final Year Film project for my friend. Yea, it is fun to compose, but unfortunately, it’s been assigned to me during the wrong time. I had to submit those songs 2 to 3 days after my exam and I dunno whether I can complete it in time, not forgetting that I have to record it professionally, arrange the tracks and edit them also…

Anyway, I got to get back uploading songs and videos onto this blog again. Cya!

It's time to save all my works

Yup, its time to backup all my songs. I realised that I had forgotten some of the songs which I had composed last year and the previous year. What will happen if I go NS? Will I forgot everything? So I've decided to gather all the possible videos or audio recordings of the songs I've done into my hard drive and to put them up on this blog. So far, I can only gather those few on top. I'll not stop sourcing for them until I've gotten almost all of the recordings.

Yesterday was my final SCC main comm meeting. Knowing how important it is to me, I still can be late for around 30mins. I rushed into the meeting room and saw the new main comm and the current main comm. Johnny can't turn up for the last meeting. He's sick. Poor thing... As for the new main comm, I saw some expected ones there, as well as some unexpected ones. But anyway, they are all good! Zi Qin and Qiuyun made the right choice. Hope the new "power rangers" will make SCC proud in the years to come. And I will miss the meeting room...

Besides that, my brother got a baby dwarf hamster from his friend. And it was soooooo lonely in the tank. I'm quite worried about it actually, as my brother has no experience in taking care of animals, not even objects like my laptop which had been almost destroyed under his hands. Alright, gtg, cya!

Reason why i did not blog for so long is becos of a series of activities that I'm coped up with. Example, SCC concert preparation, school projects, playing digimon world in my pc, bz playing Angels Online, and my LAZYNESS!!! WAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!

CONCERT IS A BLAST!!! Though there are not as much audience at the previous year, but the audience for this year is sooooooo supportive, especially towards me. HAHA! Joking la! I where got so thick skin one.

2ndly, i recently had my NS medical checkup. And ya, have to strip alot. And I saw a lot of fat people there! HAHAHA! But thats not what I fear. I'm scared of the photo taking session for the NS Identification Card. I have been told by Johnny that bitch that the person in charge will spray a bottle of water onto ur hair, and comb it like those kind of ah peh hair style. Damn low class la. But luckily, it never happen! LOL! my hair is too short for him to comb backwards. After the whole procedure, I have been told that there are abnormalities in my heart and I have to go to the hospital for furthur checkup. And I have also been told by WanTing, Zi Qin and Benedict that the report states that I have possible heart attack due to the blockage in part of my heart. OMG!!!

2 days later, I went to the hospital and had a heart scan. However, I received bad news... I'm so depressed and sad. The doctor called me to prepare for the worse. Cos he said that I'm too skinny and so I have to eat more. Oh, and he also said there's nothing wrong with my heart at all. LOL!!!

Yea! The title says it all, my eczema is back. Sian... Thought it was gone for good already. Got it like a few days before the SCC chalet, which also happens a few days before the previous SCC chalet few months back. Perphaps, its the curse of the SCC chalet?

Anyway, during the chalet, Me and WeiMing gather like around 10 SCC members to explore the Old Changi Hospital at around 12am. Yea, the place is extremely creepy and eerie when we just enter the building. But when we're inside, it actually does not seems to be as scary as it seems. Perphaps its the vandalism of paint on the walls of the building as it makes the whole scene less creepy. And most of us got attacked by giants ants/termites during our exploration, except me. Muahahaha! Luckily I wore my mega big fat shoes which I bought from Korea.

After the chalet, my eczema worsen, so I had to stay at home for days to recover before school start in a few days time. And that day which I stayed at home is the 1st time I miss a SCC session in this year. Broke record again... And I do not have the time to record Johnny's vocals for my song which I intended to submit for SPOP. So I can only submit the one which my vocal was recorded in it. Unfortunately, my com caught spyware on the day which I wanted to submit my song, which is like the day before the dateline. Ya, and I can't get into the internet. So forget it, I'm not submitting, not fated, damn suay...

Not only that, now one of my Gerbil's ear got wounded and bleed through excessive scratching. There are mites in my gerbils' home! Maybe its also the curse from the Old Changi Hospital?

Anyway, my birthday is coming soon in a few days time, maybe my luck will be back? Hmmm... wonder wad SCC will get me this time? Gosh! I luvvvvvvvv being thick skin! LOL!

Ok, my life has been getting busy and busy. Never really had a good rest since last 2 weeks... That's maybe one of the reasons why I didn't perform my song in the Monthly Performance yesterday. But at least I had a song collaboration with Zi Qin and Wendy. And they sang well yesterday, really proud of them, and also Zhi Wei for drums when I called him to play the drums last minute. Lol!

With the making of the demos project for Estella gone, I'm left with a major money making song writing project that's worth doing it, Hui Hui's song arrangment, Qiu Yun song, a 3 day SCC chalet, NP Strings camp, and a demo recording for SPOP... OH YES! I decided to join SPOP after some advise from Wei Ming, Alex and Cindy. Maybe I should just give it a try, don't think I will get in anyway, cos some demos submited online is quite good. And I decided to submit 笔记的那一页 and maybe call Johnny to sing.

By the way, I've gain around 5kg since the beginning of last month. And I finally won Guo Long in our weight challenge which leaves him envious. Hah!

Shit! The next SCC Monthly Performance is coming and I still have not got a song of my own to sing. Yes, I have 3 songs for other people to perform this Monthly Performance, but I did not compose a song for me to sing. HOW HOW HOW!!? I can't break my record. My inspiration just stop coming anymore!!!

For this Monthly Performance, I'm thinking of composing a song like Da Chen Xiao Ai by Wang Li Hong and Ai Shang Wei Lai De Ni by Pan Wei Bo. According to Johnny, my vocals will sound better in that kind of feel and genre. Something RnB feel will be good for me. But the thing is I wanna compose a song which I can play the piano and sing at the same time... The challenging thing now is how to compose a song which is RnB and sounds good with only piano and my vocals. The next Monthly Performance is 3rd of October and time is running short. I'm still lost. I NEED INSPIRATION!!!

OMG!!! WAD THE HELL!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!! I'M SO FREAKIN' EMBARRASS!!!

Ok, it all begins just now, which is early in the morning around 4am+, everyone in my house is asleep. Then, I went to take a bath. As I was bathing, I was reciting and trying to memorise the lyrics of one of the song which I recently like. But I don't really appreciate it as its a very common song composition, not much style and uniqueness in it. (I'm talking about the melody)

Anyway. I started singing the song as I was scrubbing myself. LOL! Miraculously, I managed to remember the lyrics without any trouble!!! WOW!!!(For those who knows me well, will know that I suck at memorising lyrics, especially chinese ones...)

Then, I started to become very high as I scrubbed myself faster. LOL! Sounds wrong... Anyway, I'm just joking, OBVIOUSLY! And so, I challenged myself to hit the higher notes of the song and went louder, WHICH I MANAGED TO HIT IT!!! WOW!!!

Ok, so after the shower, I wiped myself dry and open the toilet door. And to my surprise, my parents were standing right in front of me calling me to shut up. wow...

Omg, they actually heard me singing for the 1st time for after so many years from my baby days!!! And they said I improved. I was like, OBVIOUSLY!!!

No, they didn't said that, I was just joking again... They just looked at me in a very weird expression, something which is bad.

Immediately, I rushed into my room and locked the door, never wanna face them again till now, erm... which is like for 10 mins already. (Again, for those who knows me well, will know that my parents don't like it when I sing. See, its so beneficial for you people to know me well when comes to blogging, lol!) I think I really pissed them off, but anyway, who caRes? My mum is a singer herself in church anyway.

Felt happy today! I always wanted to go to a country filled with ang mos! Wanna see how their lifestyle are like compared to Singapore. But the main problem is I'VE GOT NO MONEY!!! Going to a place like America requires me to prepare around $2000 to $3000!!!

Fortunately, Tingren, my "nanny" and our vulgar friend Xiao Zhi, are also desperate to go to America. And recently Xiao Zhi had return from Yellowstone in America through a programe which is cater for people who are not rich enough to go to America.

Through her advise and experiences, three of us had planned to save enough money for the flight and go to Yellowstone or West Coast after my National Service. I obviously have to save the money I earned from NS. Then, through Xiao Zhi's contacts there, we will get a job and earn back our money. Then, we will go to L.A. to visit Hollywood and Universal Studios with the price of around $200 to $300 ONLY for the flight there if we book our tickets early.

In conclusion, our planned duration of stay there will be around 3 months or 4 months. And we made a promise not to back out on the plan. So, to Tingren and Xiao Zhi, 3 years later from 17 Aug 2007, 11:45pm, We will be in America. Don't forget our promise...

Ok, I shall start blogging, "due to popular demand". LOL! Basically, life just got more relax and bored for the past few days after attachment. More relax as I dont have to wake up at 9am for attachment anymore and bored as I have to write a 2000+ words report for my attachment.

Watched The Simsons and Transformer with friends a few days ago. Both are GREAT MOVIES!!! Simsons, being the funnist movie ever and Transformer, being the best action movie I had watched in my life. And I've gone crazy over Transformer ever since. Oh ya, wanted to say Harry Potter is getting worse and worse. Hope the final version of it will be better, cos I heard a lot of characters died in that story.

Oh! And I finally have time for SCC!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! But this time, SCC is not as enjoyable to me as compared with the life in SCC before my attachment. Got to hear some gossips about me which makes me feel so Yuen Wang. I'm such an innocent boy lor. LOL! I'm very irritated by people talking about me liking so and so or being bias to so and so cos I'm trying to benefit something from so and so, blah blah blah. Why are people thinking so much? Its just so childish to assume stuff without proper investigation and start gossiping around.

But hor, actually I'm beginning to like the feeling of having gossip about me. LOL! It shows that people are still having attention on me even after being MIA in the clubhouse for so long! OMG, I'm still as famous as before. The more famous the person is, the more gossip he will get, just like Wang Li Hong... Hohoho!!! =P Oh! Mandy is BACK FROM NS! He has told me stuff which really made my vision as a music director clearer. Thanks to him, I'm more encouraged to serve SCC for the sake of the club standard, not for the sake of the people.

Besides that, theres a audition for singers in SCC held by some outside music industry people and a SCC alumni during the SCC camp! I think it makes Johnny eyes glitter the moment their representative announce this as it involves TAIWAN! Hmmm... maybe I should try my luck... It will be great if they are auditioning as a band though...

Yea, the saga of my luckily days are back to haunt me! This time it has reached to the ultimate stage, I've got chicken pox again... I can't go for work for 2 weeks, have to stay at home for this period of time. Well, at least i can still maple... Oh! By the way, I'm back to Mapling again! Thats why I haven't been updating my blog.

As for the TalentQuestX prizes, I've got a Creative Prodikeys Keyboard (Its a PC-MIDI music keyboard attached to a typewriting keyboard.), a Sennheiser HD202 Headphones and a few vocuchers and VIP cards. The money will have to wait for a few more days. So, Tiffany and Wendy, if you see this, tell me what you want ok? I've ought to split these stuff to you two.

And also, Anna is back!!! She called me a few days ago telling me that she's in Singapore.

By the way, I realised that I forgot to introduce my two gerbils. I got them a few days after Atrium's death.

Lately, I've been composing a new song. Its called 世界另一边. Lyrics is written by Wendy, again. She's really good, I think she can offcially be my lyricist for all my songs liao. Lol! This is the 1st song that I'm able to understand the meaning and emotions protrayed in it. Probably its because its like the reflection of how I miss Atrium. Haha!

Yo! Yesterday was the finals for TalentQuestX Vocal, Group and Song Composition Competition! So obviously I'm gonna write about my experience there as a contestant.

Its so great to have so many people that I know in the finals. People like Yu Pin, Sonia and PJ. Fortunately they are in the vocal category, so I'm not competiting with them. Haha! It great to be able to share and understand the nervousness we are going through during though times. Of course we did encourage each other. Its also great to make friends with so many music lovers there, and also the make-up artists! Lol! Oh! And they trimmed my eyebrown! AHaha! So scary... And also they made Tiffany look great that day. Oh! And everyone wore blazers that day, only me wearing that brown hooded jacket that SCC bought for me during my birthday. I look so kinda weird and extra, but I don't care! I have officially call that jacket my lucky charm and I will feel good because its a gift from my fellow SCC buddies.

Maybe I should talk more about the technical side of the show. Its actually worse than NP Idol for the video recordings of the contestants' interview and mic settings. But their stage lightings are MARVELOUS!!! Especially in PJ's performance. As for the program booklet, they really did it professionally well. I like my photo in the booklet, so shuai... Haha! Omg, I'm so thick skin...

Then, my SCC friends came down to support me, Tiffany and Yu Pin. I wanna thank Maxwell, Ivy, Guo Long, Wan Ting, Zi Qin, Fun, Xing Hu, and Wee Jian for supporting us and voting for us. Did I miss out anyone? Lol!

And so, its me and Tiffany turn to perform. I was very nervous and at the same time worried that the SCC keyboard will screw up on me by playing that retarded drum beat. Oh! I forgot to say I brought the SCC keyboard there. Another lucky object, er... actually not really... Sometimes, that keyboard will screw up by playing a comical drum beat unintentionally. Anyway, we perform and it was great! I didn't play any wrong notes, Tiffany didn't go flat or struggle. And the keyboard screw up by playing the comical drum beat, but it only did it when the song end and when Tiffany is bowing. Its was like THE PERFECT TIMING TO PLAY THE DRUM BEAT!!! (although that wasn't I what I intended to do) ITS WAS SO PERFECT!!! GOD REALLY BLESSED US!!! Oh! And Tiffany prayed before the performance. Haha! Everyone thought that I played that drum beat intentionally and said it was cool and funny. Lol! After our performance, its was the "God and Goddess" performances, the ones which I talked about in the previous blog post.

Its results time, and I really got super nervous. Its was a different kind of nervousness I felt from before. Probably its because this was my first time entering a competition. Then, the MC announced the 2nd runner-up, it wasn't us. Then, Tiffany kept telling me to visualize getting the 1st. She said its THE SECRET. True enough, WE GOT THE 1ST!!! Er... runner-up... The "God and Goddess" got the 1st. Haha! And for all the song writing trophies are so small and cute compared to the vocal and group ones. So bias... And the vocals category prize money is so much greater. PJ got 2nd and Yu Pin got the 1st, as expected. Haha! Everyone is so happy! Including our new made make-up artist friends. Then we go out and eat, party and chill.

In conclusion, it was a great experience. Kinda shiok actually. I hereby strongly urge SCC members to go try out these kind of competition, it really force yourself to improve for the sake of competition and experience you get from your friends support and on stage is really shiok! Ok! Time to stop writing. Cya!

Its been a long time since I last surf the internet with peace. My Toshiba laptop was giving me a lot of problems last friday. I deleted my old virus scan software so as to install a more powerful virus protector software. But I didn't manage to uninstall the old virus scan completely, so I wasn't able to install the new virus protector software. In other words, I'M STUCK WITHOUT ANY VIRUS PROTECTION!!! At night, I was updating this blog when suddenly my computer screen turn into blue. ITS THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!!! OH HO!!! My computer was invaded by Spyware. And I'm not the kind of people who watches porn on the net like Johnny, so I don't deserve such retribution.

Thursday:
So I went to school the next day to repair my computer. Unfortunately, the service centre closed when I reached the entrance. Then, I went to Maxwell's house to fix it. He's a computer pro! But the virus is so strong that Maxwell had to format all the data in my com to kill it. So be it. All my poor music data gone... =(

Friday:
The next day, I went to school again to install Windows XP at the service centre. This time, I managed to reach the entrance before they closes. They agreed to help me install the Windows XP but I could only collect it 3 days later, which is the 1st day of my attachment. Shit! I need a laptop to do my attachment and also I can't go to school to collect it on that day since I have attachment. What to do? I called Zhi Wei to collect it for me.

Saturday:
The next day, I went to IMM with my parents to get a new laptop. I can't stand my Toshiba laptop anymore, it keeps failling on me. I have 2 choices of laptop in mind. Sony Vaio or Fujitsu. I decided to get Sony since its cheaper and its Windows XP, however, the salesman told me they are made from China. So I go for the Fujitsu laptops, but they have no stock. Same goes for the other electronic shops. Then, one salesman recommand me Compaq. He said Compaq is now under HP, so their laptops will hardly crash. However, almost all the new laptops there are selling in Windows Vista version, and I prefer Windows XP because Vista is too new. It will sure encounter problems at this point of time if I am to use Vista. Sian... I bought that Compaq Presario V3000 laptop anyway, though its also running in Vista. No more time to choose, attachment is 2 days later. Then, I went over to Maxwell that night to install some cool softwares and to gain info about my new laptop from him.

Monday:
During the 1st day of attachment, Kah Leong told me that Kok Leong, who is my music lao shi aka the director of the company I went to, is having an unlucky aura. He also said its contagious and call me to beware. Haha! True enough, my new laptop can't install the music studio softwares that I need to install to do my work. LOL! Maybe because its Vista? So the whole day there I can't do anything but to play the keybaord, compose new song, and sing karaoke there. That night, Zhi Wei passed me back my old laptop and I have to pay him $21 for the computer service fee. After having another karaoke session at party world, I went to Maxwell's house to change my new laptop into Windows XP. It was like midnight then. Taking cab is super expensive but I had no choice. Unfortunately again, the wireless network is all lock at that time and Maxwell and I can't surf the internet to download the neccesary drivers for the process. So we can't do anything...

Tuesday:
The next day, I started recording some songs during work using my old laptop. Halfway through my work, my old laptop got virus again... But its under quarantine. Lucky... That night, Mawell came to my house to complete the installation of Windows XP my new laptop. Unfortunately again, Vista is so powerful that it disable the installation of Windows XP even when Maxwell have the Windows XP disc! Even worse, when I opened up my old laptop, I got another virus attack, and this time, IT FAIL TO QUARANTINE!!! AND THE VIRUS KEEPS MULTIPLYING!!! We faced 2 MAJOR PROBLEMS that night and we are about to give up facing 2 problems that we can't solve. The virus in my old laptop is so strong that after formatting, it still surviving. I heard from Maxwell its a Malware, much more FATAL than Spyware. Its the lastest version of virus, and I'm the 1st few customers probably... Damn unlucky. We spent the whole night to solve the problems but we still fail. And when Maxwell went home at 6am, I started to feel feverish. I myself also got infected by virus. Lol!

Wednesday:
I didn't went for work. Kah Leong misses me. Haha! Probably he's along there. I went to see the doctor and then rushed down to school with Maxwell for the service centre. We sent my old laptop for formatting again and went to another service centre in school for some Vista help. That new service centre we went to is more equiped with Vista knowledge as we heard that the new intake of students in Ngee Ann Poly have to use laptops that runs in Vista. And so, the computer guy there insisted that I continue using Vista and he managed to install the software which I have to use for my work. Then, I went back to the old service centre to collect my old laptop, and this time there's no more virus!!! YAY!!!!!!! FINALLY!!! MY LUCK IS BACK!!! Probably because I didn't went to work to face my lao shi that day. LOL! So I went home and passed my old laptop to my small brother and I'm using my new laptop now to write this blog.

Alrite, got to go to sleep. Don't wanna be late for my work later. Cya!

Atrium is gone...

Yesterday is the last day of Atrium's life. I woke up in the afternoon as usual, let Atrium play with all his toys for the last time and told him that I enjoy taking care of him. Now I know that it is so painful to know someone important to you is going to die in a few hours time and its what you are planning for it to happen. Its cruel, but you have no choice...

As usual, I brought him to the vet again, this time already prepared to let him leave this world. I think the nurse there is getting very farmiliar with my face. She was like "consultation for your hamster?" before I can even say anything. Lol! This time, I finally saw people bringing hamsters to the vet, I always thought I was the only one.

Ok, its my turn, I went into the consultation room and the vet says: "You have 2 choices - put him to sleep or try another medication." I said "Atrium is getting sick and tired of taking medications and suffering, what's your advise?" The vet supported my decision and asked me to sign a form.

I went over to the counter and filled in the form. I filled in Atrium's particulars and chose cremation and have his ash placed in an urn and send it back to me. A male nurse brought me to a small room. He took Atrium from his cage and hold him still at his hand. I stroke Atrium's head for the last time. Then he poke the needle into Atrium's body and inject a blue liquid in. The sight of Atrium struggling from the pain of the needle really hurts. By the way, this process is painless, its only that the poking of the needle is painful.

Atrium ly on the table, staring at me and gasping for air. I told the nurse to get me a plastic bag for putting the cage in. While he was away to search for a plastic bag, I went over and used my finger to gently stroke Atrium's body as he was gasping for more air. Then, his breathing stops and he ly there motionless with his eye wide open. I feel so guilty and evil. Its like taking his only precious life away from him... But I have no choice, this is the kindest way I can do for him... And so I left the place and don't feel like doing anything else but to go home. Perpheps I will compose a song for him...

Lastly, I wanna thank Wendy for giving me this little creature for my birthday. Its the best gift I have ever had.

Rest in peace my dear Atrium... I will miss you =(

I think I'm getting lazy updating my post. So I will be posting once in 2 weeks.

1st update, I went to LSCT graduating night in a Hotel in Orchard last tuesday for a performance. The food there is great! And the stage is super pretty, with those flashing lights and smoke machine! As me and my other SCC performers (Wei Ming, Wendy, Mandy, Jiamin and Maxwell), the LSCT students there are expecting for Tiffany and Johnny. Seems like Tiffany and Johnny is pretty famous in LSCT! Anyway, I went up to stage for sound check, and then one of the lecturers there praised me! I was so happy! LOL! I didn't hear good comments for so long liao. Hee hee... Before our performance we are treated with the buffet there. THE FOOD IS SO DELICIOUS AND TEMPTING!!! All the vocalists like me have to make sure we don't eat too much, no deserts too, or else it will effect our performance. Lucky Maxwell, he can eat all he like because he's just playing the guitar. It was performance time and I went the stage to perform "Shi Jie Wei Yi De Ni' by Cao Ge, "Tian Tian" by Tao Zhe, "On The Way Down" by Ryan Cabrera and "Searching" by me. I was quite satisfied with my performances although I know its not perfect yet...

2nd update! Same thing, about my dear hamster Atrium again. I brought him to the vet last monday and was thinking whether to end Atrium's suffering by putting him to an eternal sleep painlessly through an injection there because he was not showing any signs of improvement... When I was there, I saw a family there bringing a dog to the vet. The dog seems to be in great pain. He kept moaning in pain, and staggers around the ground. And he has a diaper on his butt too. Probably also because of diarreo? And so the owner decides to put her to an eternal sleep and plans for his funneral. I was looking and the dog and realised that Atrium is not as unfortunately after all. So I decided to give him one more try. I told the vet that about putting him to sleep but the vet refuse to do so. So ok, one more try lor.

Oh ya! I also found out something. Last time all my hamsters die of the intestine coming out from the anus after a serious of diarrea was because the vet last time gave me the anti-diarrea medication, which will harmfully clog up hamsters' intestine!!! Bloody idiot vet... So no experience... Luckily the vet this time know what she's doing.
So now, after days of medication, and cleaning of his infected wound, there's still no sign of improvement. I think I will most probably put him to sleep this coming monday through the vet.

Been very busy the past few weeks

YES! I'M SO FREAKIN BUSY the past few weeks. First, it's my hamster's sickness, then my Industrial-Based Project, then the Chinese New Year preparation, then an outdoor performance for the elderly, then a performance for an environment event, then performing for TalentQuestX competition and then now Atrium got sick again, and he's getting worse then before!

I thought he's gonna be fully heal soon, unfortunately, the moment he finished his medication, his diarreo is back! Though is not as horrible as before, but he became very thin and weak. So sad!!! I have no choice but to continue his medication and feeding food again, hoping he will get well soon.

For the outdoor performance for the elderly, I performed "Ai Wo Bie Zhou" by Zhang Zhen Yue. The organisers want old songs and that song is the oldest song I can go. LOL! Anyway, its just for a performing experience, the elderly there don't really care for good vocals or stage presentation. And so the me and the performers there had a great time improvising songs and anyhow jam on the keyboard up on stage with so many elderly watching us. Haha! And also, Zi Qin is the main highlight for that day, she really sound like Deng Lu Jun and the elderly can relate to her voice.

For the performance for the environment event, many students and teachers from different secondary schools came to gather for the event in Ngee Ann Conventional Centre. I have to perform 2 songs, "Ai Wo Bie Zhou" again and "On The Way Down" by Ryan Cabrera. It was the reahearsal day when I heard news from Olivia, my IBP group mate, said that the sound for our film "Yi" turn out well in the preview theatre. I was really happy to hear that. Ok, back to the actual performance day, as I was performing I saw Zi Qin and Project Superstar Wee Jian there. So nervous to perform in front of the 2 pros. Unfortunately, I was overly nervous and I CRACKED MY SINGING FOR ON THE WAY DOWN!!! AND ITS NOT EVEN THE HIGHEST NOTE!!! SO EMBARRASSING!!! Zi Qin is like "diao (-_-!)"... After the event, I don't even wanna face anybody and left school to prepare for my TalentQuestX performance later.

Ok, for the TalentQuestX performance, I had been told by the organisers that I've got into the finals for the song original composition category and I have to showcase it during the TalentQuestX vocal semi-finals, which is on the day of the environment performance event. So I went to Tiffany's house to rehearse my song. Stupid Tiffany keep complaining the key of the song too high. Lol! But she really did a good job singing for my song. And so that night of the vocal semi-finals, me and Tiffany went to the stage with the SCC keyboard (which is freakin heavy and its the only keyboard that I can get for plugging my CD player in...). We were shock to find the place in a pub and sonia is in the semi-finals too! So we were sitting together with Yu Bin (a very good vocalist) watching the others doing their sound check. We saw a contestant there who looks like Hor Wei Jian and Hong Jun Yang and sings like Cao Ge and Zhang Xing Zhe. Wahahaha!!! What a hybrid! Oh! We also saw a couple performing a jazz song. The man was a malay, playing the piano, more pro than Mark Yu Chun or Amos, able to sing as good as Micheal Buble and the woman was an eurasian, singing like some caucasian singers. They are DAMN FEAKIN GOOD!!! We was telling Yu Pin that they will confirm win the duet category. They are like those professional pub performers and they are in their 20s or 30s.

I have been told that my performance is after the duet performances. And after all the duets have compete, I went up onto the stage with Tiffany feeling very nervous and SCARED... BECAUSE I HAVE NOT SEEN THE FREAKIN PRO JAZZ COUPLE PERFORM IN THE DUET COMPETITION!!! Fortunately, there are no mistakes when we are performing my song. And the next performance from the composing category is THAT JAZZ COUPLE!!! Die la... No hope liao... Actually still got a bit, because their song is not commercial, not like guang liang this kind which most people like. Oh ya! And one of the 3 judges is actually a music school director that I helped for performing for her school opening ceremony!!! A girl contestant, RJ, from my course actually regconised me and call out for me and Wendy on that day. And Sonia really improve A LOT in her vocals based on the day I saw her in NP Idol. Seems like Wee Jian has been training her well. Oh! Wee Jian was there to support her too, he came down after the environment event. So cool, get to meet so many people I know...

Sonia, Yu Pin, and RJ got into the finals for the vocal category!!! The final showdown for all the categories will be on 31st March at ACS Barker!!! If you able to make it, come support me leh... Wahahahahah!!! For SCC members, support Yu Pin and Tiffany also! For NP Idol people, come support Sonia. This is so freakin scary since its my first time in a competiton...

My hair is finally red!!!

I've been dying my hair 5 this week!!! Which cost me a total of around $100! Just to get my hair to the red I that I wanted all the time. By the way, I didn't copy Tiffany lor... I already planning to go for red because its valentimes and chinese new year! And red is an auspicious colour in this period of time. Lol! My first try was the day before yesterday when I went to the salon and asked for red colour. And it turns out to be orangy red. I looked so punk lor! (but at least its better than last time when I dyed light green...) So I insisted that I wanted a darker colour. I wanna look my best for chinese new year because I'm gonna meet some important people. And I can't wait to meet with my uncle (some of you will know what I mean). In the end, after adding darker shades of dye, my hair still look very bright. Let me give you an example:

So I went over to NTUC to buy dark brown coloured dye and plead my mum to dye for me. She agreed, but unwillingly. Haha! Then the result is that my hair became very black, with a bit of red shades on the tip of my hair. Look so awful lor! Then Zi Qin introduce me to her mum's friend, who is a hairdresser that charge dying of hair in a cheaper price. I went to try my luck again! She dye light brown on my hair, and the result is not much difference, only slightly lighter this time. Then I got quite fed up and I went to buy a EXTREME HI-BLEACH dye. I went home and apply a little potion of it and rub it onto the tip pf every part of my hair. The results, it finally turns brighter!!! And its not bright to the extreme too!!! FINALLY!!! The red that I wanted...

Anyway, I was playing with my hamster(Atrium) on my office chair one day when suddenly he stood very still staring at me when I was lying on my bed. I closed my eyes for a moment and I suddenly dozed off!!! This is so typical of me, lol!!! Then my mum passed by, saw something cute and took a photo...

Atrium actually fell asleep too the moment I dozes off!!! LOL!!! Saw that flurry little thing on the left of the photo? That's him.

Been thinking about music...

I've been thinking for quite some time about this. It seems that the Chinese in Asia tend to prefer more on Mandarin pop or ballad than English songs. I've been composing quite a number of chinese songs in SCC so far and I realised I tend to use chords that is commonly used in Mandarin and Korean pop music. I've always been wondering is there such a thing as Singapore Mandarin pop? I've heard of Korean pop, Japan pop, Chinese aka Taiwan pop, but I've never heard of Singapore Mandarin pop songs before. Maybe the name sounds awful... Or perphaps, the Chinese in Singapore tends to follow Taiwanese pop style?

One of my sound lecturers (Mr Heng Han) once told me that Taiwan music companies tend to look for composers in Singapore because they believe that Singaporeans are influenced by the English culture, thus there maybe a possibility that the songs composed in Singapore will result in a different feel. Maybe that what I've been looking for all these times in SCC. I had been trying to compose a English song chords to a chinese lyric. One example is the chinese song which I composed "Lady." I used jazz chords for that song, but I think it doesn't sound appealing enough. I think I'm still too used to "Guang Liang's kind of music". Perphaps it's ok for those to think that this kind of combination may turn out weird. I just have to make myself and the others able to get used to this different feel hopefully.

I had came across this band called "Mute Math" some time ago and I went to view their videos on youtube today. I was totally amazed with the songs they composed! It's so freakin fresh (as in the style) and their choice of chords in some songs are freakin' hard to figure out! Best of all, they are christians too and the singer is a keyboardist/keytarist as well (like me!!!). I thought that it is quite impossible to sing and play the keytar together. But he actually gave me the encouragement to do so. Therefore, I'm gonna use my Hong Pao money to buy my very own keytar. And I will train myself to write English songs chords in SCC. I want to have my own style. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

There's hope!!!

Yay! I see improvements on Atrium's health! After bringing him to the vet for the 2nd time, I was told to stop all the antibiotics, cos its causing the harm, and its really true! I was wrong to listen Johnny telling me that its normal to diarreo after taking the antibiotics. Now that I think of it, he killed mouse by disecting them in his school labotary. Wahahaha! Anyway, I have to feed him with powder food mixed with water to get his body weight back on and his "yakult" to introduce good bacteria into his digestive system.

On the previous days, it had been an unlucky weekend for me. I'm so desperate to have my hair cut for my performance on last sunday that I went to the particular barber shop at Novena and it closes everytime right before I reached the place. And the vet closes the moment I reached that place last saturday when it was Atrium's most critical period. And the shops in Sim Lim Tower closes when I went there to buy cables for AOM's recording studio. Perphaps its due to my poor time management.

Oh! And I found out something today. I was chilling out with Kak Leong today when suddenly he mention a guy called Mark coming to fetch us to his house to play majong. I suddenly thought of a guy called Mark in SCC, someone that people in SCC termed him as one of the Legends... True enough, its really him. What a small world!

Its been both a sad and a happy day for me today. Sad being that Atrium condition is getting worse. He's been having wet stools since yesterday till now. And he has slimmed down. I hope its due to the medication taking effect... Or maybe I should bring him to the vet again...

Oh! And I saw him sleeping in a very weird posture today:

Saw his head lying onto the bowl of nuts? He probably fell asleep while having his meal... Lol!

Sunday is drawing close, and I've got a song to learn to perform for The Art of Music roadshow on that day. I realised I still have trouble memorising lyrics even though its not in chinese. I finally managed to get a guitarist and a cello player for my song. By the way, the song I will be performing on sunday is "On the Way Down" by Ryan Cabrera. Die!!! How am I suppose to face the public when I can't get my lyrics right!!!??? Shit!!!

Anyway, SCC just had its last monthly performance for the semester. Really glad to see so many new faces on the performing stage performing my songs. So proud of my SCC juniors. Haha! And I'm also happy that some of the members are forming bands! Hope they really succeed in reaching their dreams and make SCC proud. The next "Audio Insanity" is gonna give birth! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Atrium is sick!!!

Oh no!!! It's been days since my hamster is experiencing pain on his anus area. So, I decided I shall delay no more and brought him to the vet today. Fortunately, I had been told by the vet that it's just an infection of the skin around the anus area, not really a serious case. Heng... But it's really a pain for me to see him sleeping in an uncomfortable posture just to prevent his infected area from touching the ground. Therefore, I had changed the entire bedding into a layer of those kind of tissue papers that is normally used in the kitchen for cooking. It's so much user friendly for my hamster, but I'll have to change it every two days. So, its quite troublesome. And also I had to clean and apply on the infected area with medication and feed him some medicine everyday. It's gonna be very troublesome based on my hectic schedule this week, but it's definately worth the trouble. I'll definately push away any appointments that comes in my way when I have to take care of him. I do not want him to experience the curse of what my previous hamsters had experience few years ago. Yea! For those who is wondering who is that "Atrium" stated on the title of this post, it's him. Reason being I got him from my school's atrium around 2 years ago.

It's 3.50am now and I'm waiting to upload a video to the web. I shall blog while killing the time for the upload. Just realise I haven't been blogging these few days. Probably I'm too obsessed with designing my blog page and my song. I've been working on my song for talentquestX. I've posted the video above. The title is 笔记的那一页. The loading will only be slow the 1st time you view it.

I came up the idea of this song with the help of this blog and a very talented lyricist, Wendy. I composed it during my emo days on the 6th of Jan. You will know what I mean when you read the entry for that day. I've even put in the lyrics in the video for some of you who are interested in. Hope you don't mind my poor vocals... Haha! Anyway, its the song that I wanna show, not the singing.

Hmmm... Life has been going the same as always. The only thing special is the main commitee members of my club, Song Composing Club, is gonna pass down to the next generation of members soon. As for me, I'm passing down my role as a public relation person to someone that the main comm and I believe in, someone good at communication and brave enough to venture out to seek for performance opportunities for the club. I shall not reveal the person until that very special day arrives. But I guess it would be obvious when I'm training him/her. After passing down, I will then take up the role as a senior mentor. Sounds cool right? Only year 4 students can apply. LOL! Some people thought that it sounds cruel for me. But I feel fine. The reason that I did not feel sad for staying one more year in school is becos of SCC. SCC have been my 2nd home since the day WeiMing brought me back to the club. I wanna help members in SCC like how SCC has developed me. Of course, I have to be bias in helping some people at times as there are too many members in SCC. Like what I've mentioned to Fun "I'll only help those who can't either do melody or play the keyboard if he/she asks for help and when I have the time." Yup, cos I believes that those who can do melody and lyrics shouldn't relay on others if he/she can use the opportunity to train himself/herself.

I've also been inspired by Mandy and Jason for their hardwork in teaching the members. Unfortunately, I'm not as free as them. I've to cope with studies and Final Year Project this month and attachments in the next semester. To think that Ren totally had no time to go SCC cos of attachments really scares me off. That is one reason why I'm giving off all my composed songs I did years ago to Evon, Jia Yi, Guo Long and Wan Ting as I know I may not have the time next semester. Yea, so you peeps make me proud for the upcoming monthly performance k? I believe in you all, so pls believe in urself too, especially Wan Ting.

As for Instrumentalists, I'm hoping that Larry (keyboard) and Maxwell (guitar) can rise up to assist members in their songs as keyboard and guitar is the 2 most common instruments people would want in their song. For drums, SCC have a very talented drummer and vocalist called Shannon, so we have nothing to worry. And also the guitar pro = Sean. Besides there maybe other good instrumentalists in SCC that I have not discover... Nvm, I still have one more year to do so. But ultimately, every SCC member should get to learn keyboard, guitar or bass as it will seriously helps in composing. Anyway, I think I talk alot about my feelings and views for SCC. May wanna talk about it more after the passing down. Got to go to dreamland now. Cya!

The time now is 6am plus. I've managed to keep myself awake throughout the night for school later at 8am. If I lay on the bed, even for just a moment, "that's the end of me" - quoted from Darren Neo Taolin.

I finally received a SMS from Anna yesterday afternoon. So freakin' happy! At least I know we are contactable now. But I still miss her...

Anyway, some of you may know that I'm joining TalentquestX 2007 song composing competition. The dateline for registeration and submission of demos is tomorrow and I'm still having doubts whether to join or not. I've heard rumors of composers' songs being stolen after joining the competition in the previous years and I don't wanna end up like them... How!? And the freakin' COMPASS copyrighting procedure and contract is SO COMPLICATED!!! They also need a few days to copyright the song and the submission of my demo is tomorrow...

This week is gonna be a busy week for. As usual, I'm a busy man... I had to compose and record 3 instrumental music pieces for my final year project film by thursday and 2 music pieces for Strifey Animation Production by sunday. And I still got to redo my scriptwriting step outline. STRESS!!! And... SHIT!!! I'M LATE FOR SCHOOL!!! Got to go, Cya!

Yea! This is the 1st entry of my very own blog! So cool! Steve aka Stiff is FINALLY BLOGGING!!! So lemme start off with my 1st memory to be recorded down in this "memory harddrive".

Today had been a very emo day for me. Never have I been feeling so sad ever since my hamsters died 3 years ago. Today is the day that a very good friend & neighbour of mine who loves to act cute, left Singapore to return to her hometown in Indonesia - Java. Almost 5 years of having each others company ends today. I went to the airport in the noon today to sent her off. We took quite a number of photos while waiting for the departure time to arrive. I also gave her my baby blue sofetoy teddybear and it even has a name "Molly" LOL! Especially when she calls it with a high squeeky childish voice. So cute! Soon, the clock strikes 3.10pm and she has to enter the departure hall to catch her plane to Suribaya. Of course, everyone was in tears... SO SAD LOR!!! Like experiencing a typical channel 8 drama show... And somemore she still sent farewell sms to my hp just before boarding the plane. Wa lau! Oh ya, for Darren's sake, her name is Anna. It will be so much harder to contact with each other now... I'll miss you Anna!!!

After that, I had to go attend Wendy's birthday dinner. So contridicting lor! I have to experience something bad at the afternoon, and then to attend something happy at the evening. Actually I do not have the mood to celebrate, but I still attend as Wendy is a very good friend of mine. She did quite a lot of stuff for my birthday and so I do not wanna let her down. So thats why I was so moody when I just arrived. So Zi Qin, don't think too much k? Its not your fault, I just need to be quiet for a while and recover.

Anyway, I learnt a lesson from this experience today. I better start blogging from today onwards as I do not wanna lose any good memories I had with all my friends in my lifetime. Maybe what I experience today will happen in future again. Whether its happy or bad moments, its still worth remembering. Yea, thats all for today. Cya!
